Owner Story: Adil & Emily Rahman | A Coach That Grows With You

Owner Story: The Rahmans

From the moment Adil and Emily Rahman arrived in Nappanee to design their 12th Dutch Star, they were met with a warm welcome that set the tone for the entire experience. Being invited into the process firsthand reinforced what they value most about Newmar. It is not just the coach. It is the people behind it.

That connection has been at the heart of their journey for more than a decade and continues to shape why they return to Newmar. For the Rahmans, ownership has never been about just one motorcoach, but about finding the right fit for each season of life. Their introduction to the Dutch Star began with the 4312 bunk model, which offered the space and functionality their family needed at the time. Seeing it in person confirmed their decision. It had everything they were looking for.

As their lifestyle evolved, so did their coach. What once served as a family motorcoach has transitioned into a couples coach, thoughtfully tailored to fit their current needs. That flexibility, along with the ability to adapt each coach to how they live and travel, has kept them coming back.

Designing their 12th Dutch Star brought that experience full circle. During their visit to Newmar, they worked closely with Natalie Miller at the Design Center to select colors, materials, and finishes. The hands-on approach allowed them to create a coach that reflects their style while strengthening their connection to the team. For Emily, the ability to personalize each detail is one of the most meaningful parts of ownership.

Early on, they took the time to thoughtfully duplicate many of the essentials from home, creating a space that feels familiar and complete wherever they travel. Today, their coach is fully equipped for everyday living, allowing them to step inside and be ready to go at any time. “We’ve duplicated so much of what we have at home,” Adil shared. “We can walk right in and leave.”

That sense of ease carries into every trip. For the Rahmans, the vacation begins the moment they step inside the coach.

Over 16 years of RVing, they have come to appreciate the details that make a lasting difference. “Each coach has been highly customized to fit how we live and travel,” Adil shared. Build quality, insulation, and ride comfort continue to stand out, along with the thoughtful improvements introduced each model year. In recent years, they have also seen noticeable gains in quality control and craftsmanship, resulting in fewer adjustments and greater confidence on the road.

Just as important as the coach itself has been the experience that comes with it. The Rahmans view the Dutch Star as an exceptional value, not only for its design and construction, but for the ownership experience behind it. From the beginning, they have found the Newmar team to be responsive, collaborative, and easy to work with, creating a relationship built on trust over time.

From a service standpoint, that difference is clear. “The way you receive emails with updates and follow-up phone calls is something you just don’t see elsewhere,” Adil shared. “The communication is exceptional.” That consistency, combined with a willingness to work closely with owners, has created a level of confidence they have not found elsewhere.

Over the years, their travels have taken them to national parks, historic sites, RV resorts, and campgrounds. Today, they spend time at Naples Motorcoach Resort and enjoy visits to Hearthside Grove in Michigan. No matter the destination, the focus remains the same. Spending time together and enjoying the journey.

For those considering their first Newmar, their perspective is simple. For buyers who value a more refined experience and are willing to invest in long-term quality, it is a coach worth exploring.

After more than a decade, the Dutch Star continues to deliver what matters most to them. Comfort, reliability, and a meaningful connection to the people who stand behind it.

When asked to describe their Dutch Star in one word, their answer is simple. Freedom.

Freedom to travel, to explore, and to feel at home wherever the road leads.
