What to Do if You Have an Active Recall
Frequently Asked Questions
Your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is the unique 17-character number that identifies your specific coach. You can find it in several places:
Primary Location: Permanently affixed to the column located directly behind the driver's seat.
Courtesy Labels: For your convenience, labels with the VIN are also placed inside a kitchen cabinet and in a closet.
Standard Locations: You can also find your VIN on your vehicle's registration and insurance documents.
You can locate the Newmar coach (also known as unit, serial, or production) number in the following locations:
Appliance Data Sheet: It is listed specifically as "Serial Number."
Silver Tire Inflation Sticker: Located near the VIN label on most coaches (look for 6 digits in brackets).
Kitchen Cabinet Label: Found on the silver coach data label. It is listed as a 6-digit number following the wording "Newmar Serial Number."
Sales Documentation: It can be found on various other documents provided at the time of sale.
A safety recall is issued when Newmar or a government agency (like the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or Transport Canada) determines that a vehicle or piece of equipment has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard.
Recalls are intended to remedy the defect to ensure your safety. All recall repairs are completed free of charge at an authorized Newmar dealership.
If your coach is included in a recall, Newmar will send an official notification letter via First-Class Mail to the registered owner.
This letter will describe the safety recall, the potential risks, and the steps to take to have the issue corrected at no cost to you. We use the most current owner name and address information on file from your provincial or state vehicle registration. You can also use the tool on this page at any time to check your VIN for open recalls.
