Employee Spotlight: Elmer Yoder
Elmer Yoder joined Newmar in January 1995, he brought with him years of experience in the RV industry and a passion for helping customers feel at home on the road. This January marks an incredible milestone, 31 years of dedication!
Elmer’s RV career began at just 16, working at several RV places before finding his home at Newmar. He started in the Personal Touch department, repairing units with care, and later transitioned to Service where he’s become a trusted technician.
Since 2011, he’s been a key part of major events like FMCA, Good Sam, Tampa, Hershey, and Louisville. One of his favorite memories was the time he personally sold a coach at an RV show! After the test drive, the customer told Newmar staff, “I bought that Dutch Star because of Elmer!”
Elmer also served as a volunteer paramedic for 13 years and remains on Newmar’s First Responder list. What he enjoys most is seeing a satisfied customer when their unit is complete. He also values the camaraderie of his team and the chance to connect with customers at rallies and shows.
Outside of work, Elmer enjoys woodworking, collecting John Deere tractors (over 100!), and camping with his wife, Diane. His advice to others: “Treat others the way you want to be treated. Stay calm, use common sense, and remember, the customer is always right.”
